Label: WARNER'S SAFE KIDNEY & LIVER CURE ROCHESTER, NY(face) A 88 (base). Large decorative emboss of a safe on the face. Hulbert Harrington Warner made his first millions selling safes and strongboxes before entering the patent medicine business. The "safe" in "Warner's Safe Cures" comes from this association rather than any sort of guarantee that his product was safe to consume as it implies. The Kidney & Liver cure is the first cure he sold, and along with curing kidney and liver ailments claimed an extravagant variety of uses. Color: Brown. Mold Type: Post-Bottom. Neck Type: Tooled, Blob. Profile: Oval. Direction of Embossing: Arched and Horizontal.
